As part of our dedication to upholding a sustainable and socially equitable palm oil industry, we are committed to ensuring that our operations are free from any form of exploitation, forced and bonded labour, human trafficking, slavery and child labour. Due to our large global footprint and complex supply chain, we have encountered gaps in the implementation of our human rights commitments. Nonetheless, our reach and scale provide us with opportunities to work collaboratively with industry players to drive change in the industry. Our concerted efforts are guided by international human rights instruments including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), local regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of the MSPO and RSPO certification. Our Group Sustainability Policy (GSP), Group Human Capital policies and SCOC reaffirm our commitment to upholding human rights. Recognising that all human rights are interdependent, interrelated and indivisible, FGV embraces the following principles: Principles Observing the principles of free, prior and informed consent (FPIC) Respecting cultural rights Exercising non-discrimination and promoting gender equality Promoting the right to an adequate standard of living through enhancing livelihood Complying with labour standards Eliminating any form of: • Forced or bonded labour • Human trafficking and modern slavery • Child labour Respecting workers’ right to: • Freedom of movement • Freedom of association and collective bargaining • Adequate housing and safe working environment SUSTAINABILITY MATTER: UPHOLDING LABOUR STANDARDS 119 Who We Are How We Operate How We Are Governed Additional Information Sustainability Matters Statement & Discussion By Our Leaders
